Here are the reports from the women's’ and girls’ cup finals.
WOMEN'S’ NPL CUP
SALISBURY INTER 3
METRO UNITED 1
A delightful double from star player Maria Jose Rojas Pino catapulted Salisbury Inter to cup glory in the Football SA Womens’ NPL Cup final against Metro United on Sunday.
It was a thrilling affair between two strong teams, with Metro opening the scoring through captain Vanessa Reed just 20 minutes in before Jose Rojas Pino equalised just before the half-time break.
The gun striker scored again to begin the second half, and the team’s free-flowing passing led to the sealer from Emily Condon 10 minutes from full-time.
Inter captain Chantelle Ryder said winning the club’s first ever cup was a surreal feeling.
“It just feels so surreal, it hasn’t fully sunk in yet. I’ve felt a lot of emotions since the final whistle and I’m just so glad our amazing team could get the result we deserved,” Ryder said.
“It means everything to the club. We’ve been working towards it for a long time.”
Ryder was thrilled with the way the whole Inter team dug in for the full 90 minutes.
“We struggled a bit in the first half with a lot of nerves but I was pleased with how we stuck together and kept ourselves in the game,” she said.
“We were able to gain control when we started stringing passes together and increased the tempo of the game.”

SALISBURY INTER 3

Salisbury Inter took full control of its Div 1/2/3 Cup final after an early opening goal according to defender Penny Wouters.
Jordan O’Neill scored the first of her two goals just 18 minutes in, handing full momentum to the Inter side.
“After our first goal I feel like we really took control of the game,” Wouters said.
“It’s a real credit to the girls because it’s easy to push when you’re down but to control the flow of the game when you’re up shows great resilience and integrity.”
The team was dominant throughout both halves of the final, the defence swarming Uni’s strikers and the midfielders and attackers creating endless opportunities in front of goal.
Trailing 2-0 at half-time, Uni buckled down defensively in the second half.
They were unable to pull any goals back though and finally cracked again in the 80th minute, conceding a penalty to go down 3-0.
“I’m so proud of the team, everyone played their role and played it well,” Wouters said.
“Us and the NPL side winning the first two cups for Inter is incredible. It will go down in the history of the club and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for female teams here.”
WOMEN'S’ DIV 4/5/6 CUP
CROYDON 2
SEYMOUR 0
A Chloe Perks goal four minutes in set Croydon up for a cup title win against Seymour, the side never looking back after opening the scoring.
The Kings’ midfield was dominant throughout the full 90, winning the ball with authority and playing fluid passing patterns to keep the Seymour defence on the back foot.
Seymour struggled to make any inroads into the lead in the first half, and Croydon then sealed the game in the 56th minute, Tayla Sabile slotting home a composed finish
GIRLS’ U17 CUP
FOOTBALL SA U14 3
ADELAIDE UNIVERSITY 0
Staying focused and disciplined was they key to Football SA U14’s dominant cup win over Adelaide Uni, according to captain Ana Simic.
Mimi Khalil opened the scoring for the favourites just nine minutes in, instantly putting Uni on the back foot.
A classy Marli Donsberg finish put FSA up 2-0 before half-time and Nicole Hobbs then added a third in the 60th minute.
Uni were unable to cut into the lead and struggled to keep possession for prolonged periods against a locked in FSA side.
“We stayed focused and composed throughout the match and that’s what led to such a dominant performance,” Simic said.
“I couldn’t be more proud of the girls for putting in that little extra to get the win.
“The parents and coaching staff were great as well, always supporting us and making sure we were disciplined.”
GIRLS’ U15 CUP
ADELAIDE CITY 2
MODBURY VISTA 0
Two penalties decided the under-15 final between City and Modbury, with Anya Newman tucking one away inside 20 minutes, and Isabelle Dunning following suit at the 70-minute-mark.
City had control of the match, but Modbury’s defence held relatively firm, something the team placed emphasis on heading in to the tie.
Two lapses cost the underdogs the title however, with City’s sharp movement and clever runs leading to penalties.
The title win is well-deserved for the City U15 side, which has been a force all season long.
GIRLS’ U13 CUP
FULHAM UNITED 1
ADELAIDE UNITED 1
Fulham won 5-4 on penalties
A dramatic affair between Fulham and Uni was decided by a penalty shootout, with Fulham edging its opponent by one spot kick.
The match was neck-and-neck in both halves, with both sides matching the intensity and producing solid defence.
Fulham opened the scoring through Ciara O’Reilly in the first half, but Uni equalised just minutes later after a brilliant Madelyn Madrussani finish.
The two sides could not be split in the second half, meaning penalties would decide to which team the trophy went.
The shootout started 2-2 before Uni’s third kick hit the crossbar and stayed out, giving Fulham the advantage.
Fulham then held their lead, with Maya Beggs slotting the winning kick into the bottom left corner.
