Cairns Brothers reigning under-18s best and fairest player Dmitri Ahwang is no stranger to putting on a show at Stan Williams Park.
Only, on Saturday, he’ll be providing the entertainment in his Northern Pride jersey.
The electric playmaker impressed Pride Intrust Super Cup coach Ty Williams when he was shifted to fullback in the opening round of the Lightning Challenge, and will get the chance to start in the key position this Saturday.
Ahwang’s strong playmaking ability, dangerous running game and reliable support play make him a natural candidate for the position.
“Visually, on the game, he plays really good eyes-up football,” Williams said.

“In the first game, for a young fella, he took what was in front of him and played some really good shape, but I also thought he was really good defensively, against some pretty big guys in Shane Cliff, Dan Sagigi and the likes.
“He gets a bit of an opportunity and he can float either side, so we need to make sure we give him the best chance possible.”
