Tributes flow for nurse as man charged over fatal crash at Pooraka

A young man has been charged over a crash in Adelaide’s north that cost the life of a young nurse and seriously injured her husband.

Tributes are flowing for the young nurse who tragically lost her life in a fatal crash at Pooraka after a dinner date with her husband.

Police and emergency services were called to Montague Rd near Henderson Ave after two cars crashed about 10pm on Thursday August 4.

Two cars, a Hyundai Elantra and Toyota Camry, collided, causing the Hyundai to crash into a tree.

A 31-year-old Renown Park woman and her 40-year-old husband were rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with serious injuries.

The woman died shortly after.

Her husband is recovering from his injuries.

Harpreet Kaur has been remembered by friends as a kind and generous person who was a talented cook.

Harmandeep Singh told 7News that he couldn’t believe his friend had died.

“We had a great time with her when we got a chance to get together,” he said.

“It’s really hard to believe.”

Mandeep Kaur told 7News she couldn’t believe the tragic news when police told her.

“When police told me I thought no, that can’t happen,” she said.

“She was a really good cook, she always cooks a meal for us and it’s still hard for us to believe she’s not with us.

“It’s really hard.”

Arrangements were being made to return Mrs Kaur’s body to be back home to her family in India, 7News reported.

A man has been arrested and charged over a crash that caused the death of Mrs Kaur in Adelaide’s north.

The Toyota driver, 20, of Ingle Farm, was not injured.

Major Crash investigators arrested the Ingle Farm man on Tuesday and charged him with causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious harm by dangerous driving.

He was bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court in September.

Police are urging witnesses who have not yet contacted police to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

It follows a fatal crash in Padthaway in the state’s South-East on August 7.

A man crashed into a paddock on Grubbed Rd and the driver and single occupant, a 41-year-old local man, died at the scene.
