46-year-old woman charged after 69-year-old man stabbed in Smithfield Plains
She was due to face court on Friday after an alleged midnight domestic incident in the city’s north.

Vision has emerged of police arresting a 46-year-old woman who allegedly assaulted and stabbed a man at Smithfield Plains overnight.
Police and emergency services rushed to Southan St at Smithfield Plains, after reports of the alleged assault just after midnight.
Upon arrival, they said they found a 69-year-old man with a stab wound to his torso.
His injuries were deemed non-life-threatening, and he was quickly taken to the hospital for treatment.

At the scene, police arrested the woman, charging her with assault cause harm.
Footage obtained by 7News shows police escorting her from the Southan St property, as she can be heard asking someone to “shut the door”.
The woman appeared to have two brown paper bags taped to her hands.
She remained in custody on Friday and was scheduled to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court.
Police said the stabbing was not a random act, and the people involved knew each other.
Investigations continue.
