A southern suburbs bowler on a unstoppable hot streak has soared to top spot in our rankings of more than 10,000 Adelaide cricketers.

The Messenger has compiled the full list ranking every batter this season by runs scored and all bowlers by wickets taken.

Junior, senior, male and female players from Adelaide’s four main metropolitan competitions – Premier Cricket, Adelaide Turf, Adelaide & Suburban and Para Districts – have been included.

Rankings will be updated throughout the season.

Sheidow Park bowler on incredible hot streak

There could not be many Adelaide cricketers with a hotter hand at the moment than Sean McLaughlin.

The Sheidow Park bowler has stormed into the lead in our list of top wicket-takers following a five-match stretch where he has claimed 26 scalps in seven innings.

McLaughlin’s 32 at 8.66 pushed him ahead of Pensinsula Pirates’ Troy Reciszen, who has held the No. 1 position for the majority of the season.

On Saturday, McLaughlin took 3/38 in Sheidow Park’s comfortable victory over Coromandel in Adelaide and Suburban section two.

Since late November he has claimed a pair of five-fors and three four-wicket hauls, including taking 9/65 across two innings against South Road in December.

And to add to the string off success, McLaughlin recently notched his 150th game for Sheidow Park.

Reciszen is now one wicket behind McLaughlin in second place, followed by Angle Vale’s Pragnesh Patel (30), One Tree Hill’s Rick Nixon (27) and Morphettville Park’s Matt Tansell (27).

In the batting rankings, Salisbury West’s Jamie McIntyre (657 runs) remains in top spot but has plenty of competition just behind.

Flinders Park youngster Hamish Height continued his standout summer with an unbeaten 108 – his third century this season and fifth score above 90 – to take his total to 648 runs at a stellar average of 162.

Woodville South opener Josh Hoffman (645 runs) and Adelaide Risers’ Ankit Saksena (624) are in third and fourth place respectively.
