Young Red in blistering form with the bat
Hamish Height is quickly making a name for himself in Adelaide cricket with a stack of runs this season.
The rising Flinders Park youngster is the highest ranked junior batter across Premier Cricket, Adelaide Turf, Adelaide & Suburban and Para Districts with 362 runs from five innings in ACTA under-15s.
Height – averaging 120.67 for the Reds – moved from ninth to fifth overall on the list after carving a solid 56 against Goodwood on Saturday.
It comes after the opener began the season with a stellar 102, followed by 94 and 97 in rounds two and three.
Height has also been a star at school level, taking out man of the match for Adelaide High in its SAAS middle A1 Twenty20 grand final win on Friday.
West Torrens teammates Kelvin Smith and Daniel Drew remain at the top of the list following their huge weekend in Premier Cricket the previous round.
But the other big mover in the batting ranks this week was Adelaide Risers Cricket Club captain Ankit Saksena.
Batting at No. 3 in PDCA LO4, Saksena produced a magnificent unbeaten 106 to guide his side to victory against ATCO.
The century shot Saksena from 16th in the rankings up to third this week.
And there is a new outright leader in the wicket-takers tally with Morphettville Park’s Matt Tansell taking top place.
The veteran bowler was in equal first last week but has shot into the outright lead after snaring 4/22 against Coromandel.
He now has 22 wickets at 6.54, two scalps ahead of Peninsula Pirates’ Troy Reciszen and One Tree Hill’s Rick Nixon.
