A proposal for new tenants within the old Holden factory includes not only a new gym, but a new indoor trampoline park too.
Plans have been lodged with Playford Council to redevelop the interior of one of the existing buildings within the former Holden site, now the Lionsgate Business Park.
The plans reveal the already announced Derrimut 24:7 gym will be neighboured by a new Flip Out franchise as well.
The trampoline park will offer 2946sq m of open-plan activity areas including trampoline arenas, foam pits and airbags, parkour courses, climbing and running walls alongside staff and patron amenities.
Flip Out Elizabeth will become the primary location in the northern suburbs, after the Munno Para Shopping Centre franchise closed in 2022.
The site will also have 465 carparking spaces with 10 of those reserved for disabled access.
The new Derrimut location will be the largest gym in the southern hemisphere when it opens its doors in early to mid-2024.
The 6788sq m space will take the mantle from the company’s Caroline Springs site in Victoria, and comprise a basketball court, reformer pilates, plunge pools and saunas, a women’s dedicated training area and “new digital training concepts”, said national brand manager Andre Pereira in mid 2023.
“Elizabeth promises to offer an unparalleled fitness experience,” Mr Pereira said, adding that the women’s fitness area would be the largest of all Derrimut 24:7 gyms.
“The largest ladies gym fit-out in South Australia is a significant milestone, reflecting the commitment of Elizabeth to provide a comfortable and welcoming environment for all members.”
