There are lots of things that make a great fitness centre such as cleanliness, 24/7 access and security.
To find Adelaide’s best of the best, we put the call out and 6608 people voted for more than 120 gyms during polling.
From Aldinga down south to as far as Gawler in the north, we’ve compiled the top 25 places you can go to get summer body ready.
Original Bootcamp in North Adelaide took out the top honours with 460 votes — a win owner Rob Coad was surprised to hear about.
The Enfield fitness fanatic says it is testament to the hard work that has been put in to establish the bootcamp.
“I’m so proud to be associated with Adelaide’s best fitness club, knowing that we are doing the right things to help people in the community improve their health,” the 48-year-old says.
Mr Coad has been running bootcamp sessions since 2006 not only in North Adelaide, but on South Tce in the city and at Henley Beach.
“We offer corporate, pre-season and general group fitness training and people are put into groups with others who have similar fitness levels as them,” he says.
“That way we can modify the program to suit all levels, from beginners to elite athletes.”
Sessions are offered for teens as young as 13, but Original Bootcamp’s oldest member is 69.
“Age is no barrier and we make sure everyone is comfortable with the sessions they’re in, whether it’s on the sand at the beach or on grass in North Adelaide.”
The Adelaide’s Best Fitness Club poll was part of The Messenger’s monthly poll series where we recognise local businesses excelling in their fields.
