A wedding video shot by an Adelaide videographer has gone viral on social media with more than 15 million views on Tik Tok and Instagram.
The Wes Anderson-style clip was shot by Lifesketch Weddings owned by local husband-and-wife duo, Marie and Chris Pittman.
The pair were approached by couple Stephanie Nguyen and Jia Truong while they were planning their special day and seeking a video and photography service to capture their nuptials.
As a fan of Wes Anderson, Ms Nguyen said it was “meant to be” when she stumbled over a video made by Lifesketch Weddings recounting Mr and Mrs Pittman’s adventures in Budapest shot in the same style.
“I really like the (Wes Anderson) aesthetic, the style, the colours and the symmetry is just really pleasing, Ms Nguyen said.
It didn’t take long for her to book Lifesketch in for her wedding.
The viral result shows the couple in various locations throughout Adelaide – from pouring tea at their traditional ceremony, to signing their wedding certificate, posing in CBD laneways and out the front of the University of Adelaide.
In each snippet the bride, groom and their bridal party have the classic straight-faced expression that any film buff would recognise immediately as Wes Anderon’s signature look.
“It took about a day to put it all together,” videographer Mr Pittman said.
“Just finding the right shots and then getting that Wes Anderson feel (which) comes from sound effects, the music and the colouring as well – just to bring out that aesthetic which is so unique to him.”
While the video was originally shared in April, the footage of Ms Nguyen and Mr Truong reacting to the finished product scored with social media users who quickly flooded comment sections with words of endearment.
“OMG, this is straight cinema,” one commenter wrote.
“OK great now I’ve gotta get married,” another added.
The newlyweds, who are originally from Adelaide, but reside in Melbourne said they have been “overwhelmed” by the feedback.
“It is so insane to me … it was just like a fun little video for us and for our friends … but I am actually really glad that everyone gets to see how beautiful Adelaide is and obviously how good Lifesketch is,” Ms Nguyen said.
