A 39-year-old motorcyclist who tragically died when his motorcycle hit a fence near Gawler has been remembered as an all-round larrikin who would do anything for anyone.

Aahron Kelso, of Davoren Park, crashed at Barossa Valley Way, Sandy Creek on Saturday about 5.30pm.

He died in the RAH on Sunday, succumbing to his injuries.

His family released a statement to The Barossa, Clare and Gawler News saying Mr Kelso was loved unconditionally by all of his family and friends.

“He worked hard as a concreter and was loved and respected by all his work mates, he was surrounded by his family when he passed,” the statement read.

“The family would like to thank first responders, emergency services and the hospital staff in the ICU for their excellent care and compassion looking after Aahron, he was well loved by all.”

Mr Kelso’s family said he grew up competing in BMX competitions and always maintained a love for driving and working on motorbikes and cars.

“He was a beloved uncle to his brother’s two boys Oscar and Patrick," the statement read.

“Aahron was always smiling and having a laugh and will be dearly missed by his mother Leanne, father Iain and brother Josh.”

Mr Kelso was the third road fatality in the Barossa over a horror weekend and the eighth motorcyclist to be killed on SA roads this year.

Harley Litzow, 23, and Alex Wait, 20 were killed when the Ford ute they were travelling hit a tree on Angaston Road at Nuriootpa just before 2.30am Saturday.

On Tuesday night a 62-year-old Barossa woman was killed at Tanunda – the fourth death in the region in as many days.

The woman’s death brings the number of lives lost to 30 compared with 29 at the same time last year.

Ten of those deaths have been in the Barossa Valley area.
