Spontaneous, kind-hearted and beautiful souls – this is how friends are remembering two young Barossa Valley men who died in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Harley Litzow, 23, and Alex Wait, 20, were killed when their Ford ute hit a tree on Angaston Road at Nuriootpa just before 2.30am.
Another passenger in the crash – Nick Coutts, 20 – was unrestrained in the rear tray of the ute and remains in the RAH with serious injuries.
Tributes have poured in for Mr Litzow and Mr Wait, workmates at local stock feed and pet food manufacturer Laucke Mills.

Flowers, beers and messages of heartbreak surrounded the tree on Monday where the crash occurred.
Jayden Fechner was a colleague of the pair at Laucke Mills and described them as his best mates.
“For those who didn’t know Harley, he was a sensational human being, one of the most beautiful people I know, always carrying the greatest smile wherever he went,” Mr Fechner said.
“He was the type of mate who could get you out of a dark day within a few minutes with his smile and a bit of a rustle up. Forever in our hearts Harley.”
Mr Fechner said the three were all involved in different roles at Laucke Mills, with Mr Litzow in production and Mr Wait working as a metal fabricator.
“Alex would have to have been one of the most cluey blokes I’ve met behind a welder or pair of tools, he was spontaneous, always cheerful and it was never a dull moment around him,” Mr Fechner said.
“He’d have more mates than I’ve had hot dinners.
“I recently started riding in Alex’s side car for the Morgan Motorcycle Club race days.
“Alex’s father Scott Wait has offered me to continue to ride in honour of Alex. Forever in our hearts Alex.”
Liv Harney paid tribute to the pair on Facebook and described them as “two beautiful souls”.
“Alex Wait I will never forget all the fun times we had together … you were the most kind-hearted person and someone everyone wanted to be around,” the post read.
“Harley Litzow, it was always a laugh when you were around, never a dull moment with you.”
Brayden Howe wrote that Mr Litzow was you were “a good lad man with huge potential”.
“It’s unfortunate how quickly someone’s life can be taken away with a car accident,” the Facebook post read. “Fly high my bro.”
In a separate incident on Saturday at 5:30pm a Davoren Park man crashed his motorcycle into a fence on Barossa Valley Way at Sandy Creek.
The 39-year-old man was initially taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with life threatening injuries but sadly died on Sunday.
The scene was decorated with flowers and beers by Monday.
Major Crash investigators attended the scenes of both fatal crashes and are investigating the circumstances surrounding them.
