Haigh’s Chocolates’ super bougee advent calendar is returning this Christmas season, with yet another price increase for the ultra high-end product.
The Luxury Advent Calendar – first launched in 2021 at a comparably cheap cost of $1075 – features an assortment of handmade, limited release and one-of-a-kind chocolates, in a gold-embossed handcrafted box.
Easily their most expensive product, the bespoke calendars are billed as providing an “abundance of chocolate for two people to enjoy.”
“Each day in the countdown to Christmas indulge in artisan chocolates, limited releases, and handmade creations, while owning a collectors piece of Haigh’s history,” the website proudly boasts.
The $1290 price tag is a $15 increase from the 2023 price of $1275.
It was priced at $1190 in 2022.
Haigh’s head chocolatier Ben Kolly said the inspiration for the 2024 instalment of the cult product comes from “many places, including local and overseas flavours and of course the traditional Christmas season itself”.
Highlights from the 2024 Calendar include dark William pear tart, milk pecan caramel nougat truffle, milk caramel flan and dark Davidson plum frogs.
The limited edition Christmas treat is available to pre order now until November 24.
