Part two: TikTok stars in South Australia ranked by followers

From Murray Bridge brothers and Riverland farmers to pop princesses and influencers who have quit their day jobs, South Aussies are seeking out TikTok fame.

Just when you thought we were done showcasing the cream of the crop of South Australian talent on TikTok, here comes the encore.

Following part one of SA’s TikTok mega stars, we have curated an encore of the state’s top influencers.

From body builders to grazing platter experts, Murray Bridge brothers to Riverland farmers, pop princesses and influencers who have quit their day jobs, South Aussies are seeking out social media fame and collecting millions of followers.

Kwame Duah

With 4.8m followers Kwame Duah could be South Australia’s biggest TikToker. And if you’ve ever wanted a virtual gym buddy it’s worth paying his profile a visit. The absolutely ripped South Aussie posts routines as well as funny skits in the gym with his friends. As well as competing in Australian Ninja Warrior, Kwame also helps others on their fitness journey through curated programs on his website.

Peach PRC – Shaylee Curnow

Homegrown pop princess Peach PRC has found fame with multiple hit songs including Josh and God Is A Freak topping the charts with millions of streams. But the 25 year old is also popular on TikTok where she shares day in the life videos as well as stories from her music career.

Lachlan Fairbairn

Lachlan Fairbairn reaches more than 1.4m fans with his observational comedy videos on TikTok. His most popular videos are of him and brother Jaxon acting out scenarios and skits. The Murray Bridge brothers also have a podcast called Fair Enough on Spotify which they take snippets of and post to TikTok.

Twenty-four year old twins Jacqui and Victoria Hondrou are known on TikTok for their fake tanning tricks. The pair pursued a dream career in social media in 2020.

“We made an account, started posting and hoped for the best,” they said.

“For us it’s a dream. We get to create fun and creative content and the best part is we get to do it together. We are so proud of where we have come.”

The twins said their followers ask them for fake tanning hacks as well as request to see fake tan removal videos. They also like to involve their followers by asking them for their ideas on fake tanning.

The Magpie Man – Mark Muscat

You haven’t lived until you’ve heard Mark Muscat’s iconic magpie impression.

Known online as The Magpie Man, the 62 year old thought he would give TikTok a try during lockdown and posted his first magpie call impression video. It went wild.

“I think the fact that what I do is quite unique made it viral,” Mark said.

With some help from a video editor friend, Mark has boomed on TikTok with people from across the globe loving his magpie calls.

Emily Ross started TikTok “as a joke” in 2019. Now she’s quit her full time job as a media executive to pursue a career as an influencer.

“It was definitely scary taking that leap, but I was finding it really hard to both produce content that I was proud of, and put in 100 per cent effort into my job,” Emily said.

The 22 year old said she takes note of any niche-specific trends and gives them a go.

“Other than that, I try and film content as I live my life because that feels the most authentic to me.” she said.

Mel McGorman

Mel McGorman posts videos of her life as a farmer as well as recently capturing footage of the reality of the Riverland flood crisis. Mel gets thousands of views from showcasing her reality in regional Australia with her cute kids and adorable lambs.
