One of Hollywood’s most beloved heavyweights has been spotted dining at an Adelaide institution.
Like the many celebrities who came before her The Crown star Olivia Colman, 50, enjoyed a meal at Duncan Welgemoed’s Africola.
The popular East Terrace restaurant known for its South African-style menu shared a snap of the Academy Award-winner visit to its Instagram account.
“What a bloody good lunch x Our beautiful friends @travkalendra @tairaku7023 @varunikul joined by the f**king beautiful legend that is Olivia Colman,” the post read.
“Let’s do this again, very soon!”
Colman is not the only A-lister to dine at the CBD eatery with the Foo Fighters most recently enjoying a private Africola meal at the Exeter in December, as well as Novak Djokovic, Bon Iver frontman Justin Vernon and Katy Perry.
Rumours had been flying Colman had arrived in South Australia to film an upcoming project, with the Oscar winner reportedly sighted at a yoga studio earlier this month.
SA film insiders were tight-lipped when asked about Colman’s visit to the City of Churches, but the megastar is slated to star in twisted romance Wicker with Adelaide regular Dev Patel – also an Oscar nominee – later this year.
Shooting for the film is scheduled for Europe in coming months, with Colman to star as a “smelly, single and perpetually ridiculed” fisherwoman who commissions herself a husband to be made of wicker sticks (Patel).
In 2018, Colman won the Best Actress gong at the Academy Awards for her portrayal of Anne, Queen of Great Britain in the black comedy film The Favourite and, from 2019 to 2020, became a fan favourite for her role as Queen Elizabeth in The Crown.
The 50-year-old is the latest big film-hitter to spend time in Adelaide after Ozark star Julia Garner called SA home for a filming stint last year.
While in SA, Garner attended a Port Adelaide AFL game at Adelaide Oval, and was seen around town, including East End dining hotspot Golden Boy and The Grace Emily hotel in Waymouth St.
