Mapped: Where to bring in 2024 with NYE fireworks as sparks return to Elder Park

Adelaide’s biggest New Year’s Eve fireworks is coming back with a bang after a four-year hiatus. See where to join in the party across South Australia.

What NYE fireworks could look like in Elder Park

New Year’s Eve will go off with a bang as fireworks return to the Adelaide CBD.

Sparks will fly at Elder Park for the first time since 2019 and Lord Mayor Jane Lomax-Smith says the comeback is cause for celebration.

“It’s incredibly exciting to be returning to Elder Park for our free New Year’s Eve celebrations,” she said.

“Elder Park is an extremely popular party space for New Year’s Eve, providing excellent vantage points to view the two fireworks shows as well as easy access by public transport.

“We’re looking forward to celebrating the year with a number of fun and safe events and I encourage everyone to party in the city this New Year’s Eve.”

The Elder Park event is among 12 firework events set to bring in 2024 across South Australia with many hosting kid friendly spectaculars before a midnight show.

The NYE in Adelaide CBD Elder Park event site has the capacity for 25,000 people at one time but the Lord Mayor predicts the total number will be much higher as people come and go.

The event will included a slew of entertainment, live music all night, a circus stage and roving performances, as well as a family friendly area with arts and crafts activities.
