New Year’s Eve is bringing clear skies and a sunnier outlook for 2024.

The Bureau of Meteorology forecast is for the Adelaide CBD to be a sunny 26C with no overcast clouds and a gentle breeze of south-easterly winds going at 15 to 25km/h.

The night is expected to be perfect for NYE fireworks, with no forecast of rain.

The following day, Adelaide can expect a 28C forecast but clouds are expected to come in during the day.

Temperatures will climb to 30C on Tuesday and hover in the high 20s throughout the first week of Janaury.

The forecast for the Murraylands is similar to Adelaide with an expected top of 27C on New Year’s Eve.

Monday will get a little hotter in the region as temperatures climb to a maximum of 30C with light clouds but no rain expected.

The Port Wakefield region will get some milder weather on NYE with a top of 25C and the following day will reach 29C.

Meanwhile, anyone in the Flinders Rangers should prepare to pull out their bucket hats and sunscreen.

The NYE and NYD weather there is predicted to reach a top of 32C with little chance of rain – although some cloud coverage is expected on Monday.

Sophia Zorbas, of Magill, said she was looking forward to bringing in the new year with her family, including daughters Georgianna, 5, and Katerina, 9, at the beach.

“We come to the beach every year for New Years, we’re Greek so we usually go to Elatte on Jetty Road,” Ms Zorbas said.

“My family will be visiting from Melbourne, so we’ll make a day and night of it and end up at The Stanford.

“We’ll spend the night there and watch the fireworks from the hotel.

“We booked the room around September, I think.

“Then on New Year’s Day we’ll go to my aunty's house and celebrate together.”
