FIVEaa rises in every timeslot in latest Adelaide radio ratings, ABC drops
ALL hail Adelaide’s breakfast radio leader, with one station cementing its spot in the all-important slot — as the ABC suffers a horror drop in the latest ratings, down in every timeslot but one. But a third station is still the ultimate winner.
- ABC’s Ali Clarke breaks down live on air
- Last month: ABC drops, FIVEaa rises, takes breakfast
- June: Ali Clarke retakes breakfast crown
- Who are the favourite to take over HIT 107 breakfast?
DON’T be surprised if you hear champagne corks popping while listening to FIVEaa today now that the station’s celebrating gains in every timeslot in the latest Adelaide radio ratings survey.
They may have only gained 0.2 market share points, but duo David Penberthy and Will Goodings are still top of the brekky pops with 14.6, after whipping the crown off the ABC’s Ali Clarke last survey.
The pair are even popular with Hollywood great Russell Crowe who last week tweeted his approval of their Two Tribes segment featuring Christopher Pyne and Anthony Albanese.
Retaining second spot at breakfast on 14 are Mix 102.3’s Jodie Oddy and Mark Soderstrom who recorded a small gain of 0.1, ahead of Ali who is still in third place after slipping another 1.6 share points to 11.9.
Ironically HIT 107’s breakfast crew Amos, Cat and Angus — who have been axed and will finish up next month — had the biggest increase of 0.8 taking them to 7.5 and sixth place, with Triple M and Nova 91.9 finishing fourth and fifth.
The ABC suffered losses across the board with the exception of Sunday Mail columnist Peter Goers’ evening show, which enjoyed a 1.3 gain to finish third with 11.2.
FIVEaa’s Jeremy Cordeaux is still dominating the night-time airwaves up 1.4 to 15.7, with Mix’s networked show in second spot at 12.2 despite a 2.1 loss.
Lifting in every timeslot and making the most gains overall — up 1.3 to 13.1 — FIVEaa remains well behind market leader Mix 102.3, which dropped 0.3 to 15.1 percentage points.
It comes after a tough week for Ali Clarke, who broke down on air last week after receiving a vicious text from a listener.
