Australian music superstar Sia Furler back home in Adelaide, visits Bird in Hand’s new LVN restaurant in the Adelaide Hills

The Adelaide-born hit-maker quietly returned home in a rare visit to family and friends this week, having last been spotted almost 10 years ago.

Australian music superstar Sia Furler made a rare trip home this week to visit family and friends in Adelaide.

The Chandelier singer, 48, was joined by husband Dan Bernad for the week-long holiday, with the couple spending quality time with Furler’s mother, Loene.

LA-based Furler and Bernad – whom she wed last May in Italy – along with 20 family and friends, also enjoyed a long lunch at Bird in Hand’s stunning new restaurant LVN in the Adelaide Hills.

Known for covering her face with large wigs, the Grammy-nominated singer was all smiles in a colourful pink dress and matching bow head band.

The small group tasted the venue’s menu created by former Restaurant Botanic chef Jacob Davey, with dishes including wallaby and local mullet.

Notoriously private, Furler was reportedly in good spirits during the meal, speaking with a slight Australian accent as she reminisced about growing up in Adelaide.

While she may have flown under the radar during her last visit, it’s been years since the singer was spotted in our city.

The last sighting of the former Adelaide High School student was way back in 2015, when she was seen by a fan enjoying a casual lunch at the Central Market.

While it may not in the flesh, fans can get their fill of the singer on Sia Furler Lane off Hindley and Morphett Street via a Jasmine Crisp mural titled ‘She Imagined Buttons’.

The original version of the mural courted controversy in June 2020 after Furler’s management reportedly complained to the city council of its close likeness. It has since been updated.

Furler rose to global fame in 2011, featuring on hits, Titanium, by David Guetta and Wild Ones by Flo Rida.

She’s also written songs for Rihanna, Kelly Clarkson, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Beyonce, Katy Perry, Ne-Yo and Celine Dion.

Furler tied the knot with Bernad in Portofino, Italy, last year, in the same seaside villa where Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker exchanged vows.

Sia’s 10th studio album, Reasonable Woman, which includes her current single Gimme Love, is due for release next year.
