Adelaide radio ratings: Surprise win for rival as Mix in a mess

Ali Clarke’s Breakfast Show has slumped in the ratings, while a surprise rival on the FM dial has risen to the top.

Mix 102.3 is in a mess while Triple M’s Mark Ricciuto, Chris Dittmar and Laura O’Callaghan are the surprise package in the all-important breakfast timeslot in Adelaide’s latest radio ratings results.

The trio are the winners of brekky on the FM dial with 11.3 share points, up 1.4 from last survey.

That win also puts them in third place overall in what is the fourth survey for 2022.

AM station ABC Adelaide’s Stacey Lee and Nikolai Beilharz, who have been in the top spot all year, are No. 1; this survey they finished with a strong lead of 18.9, up 2.2.

Second place overall went to another AM station, FIVEaa – where brekky is hosted by duo David Penberthy and Will Goodings – with 11.8 up 0.7.

NOVA 919’s Ben Harvey and Liam Stapleton finished fourth with 9.3 (-1.8), followed by SAFM’s Andrew “Cosi” Costello, Andrew “Lehmo” Lehman and Rebecca “Bec” Morse, with 9.0 (up 0.2) in fifth.

In another shock result, easy-listening AM station Cruise 1323 beat its sister FM station Mix 102.3.

Cruise was sixth with 7.5 (-1.3), while Mix’s Ali Clarke Breakfast Show slumped to seventh with 6.9, after falling 1.9.

It would be a bitter blow for Clarke, who is currently holidaying in Bali. Mix breakfast – previously hosted by Jodie Oddy and Mark Soderstrom – had long been a ratings winner on the FM dial.

In another blow in June, AFLW superstar Erin Phillips announced she was stepping away from her full-time role on Mix after just 18 months.

The ABC is Adelaide’s top-rating station overall with 13.6, up 1.6.

Mix, which had a stronghold on that position until it was toppled by Aunty in the first survey for 2022, is in second place with 10.6.
