Sky Song | Adelaide Fringe 2022 review

A poignant blend of modern technology with the rich Indigenous history of the land we stand on, Sky Song feels deeply significant.

A mesmerising celebration of Indigenous culture in an expanse of rolling South Australian hillside, Sky Song is nothing short of magical.

The sheer scale of this eerily space-age performance is a humbling reminder of the unknown beyond.

It is difficult to grasp just what an engineering feat it is to have each drone fly into perfect formation in the night sky, to illustrate engaging Dreaming creation stories, the harrowing history of the Stolen Generation and the hopefulness of reconciliation.

Narrated by Archie Roach and featuring the songs and poetry of our First Nations voices, the sound quality is extraordinarily crisp and sharp for an outdoor event.

As for the iridescent visual display both overheard and on enormous screens set between the vineyards, it simply needs to be seen to be believed.

A poignant blend of modern technology with the rich history of the land we stand on, it highlights one powerful message: Now is the time to listen.

Sky Song feels deeply significant, and will leave you tingling with awe, so rug up for an unforgettable experience in the stunning McLaren Vale.
