Dizney in Drag: Once Upon a Parody

Cabaret

Rating: ****

The Flamingo and Magic Mirrors Spiegeltent at Gluttony

Until March 27

It’s a drag show that’s bigger than Disney. It was raunchy, it was sprinkled with innuendos and the crowd went wild watching this spectacular.

A blend of Disney’s cautionary tales from Cinderella’s shoe to the Hairy Godmother drinking an impressive amount of beer, it flips happily-ever-afters on their heads.

The show has it all, including well-known musical highlights – only new and improved parody versions. It preaches inclusivity, feminism, consent, identity and orientation.

It wasn’t a traditional spin on Disney classics but rather a necessary tale that audiences may wish they were morally taught as children. It encourages curiosity and self expression.

The drag queens are hilarious, exceptionally talented and they created a safe place for audiences to rejoice.

Dizney in Drag is a must-see event, but make sure you leave the kids at home.
