Ukiyo at Gluttony

Until March 16

A foursome of bored supermarket workers are trying to fill out their day as they watch the clock anxiously as it trips down to five.

Of course they can play with supermarket trolleys, toss burger rolls or, most impressively, attack the audience as four out-of-control chickens that have escaped the Boop coop.

The star attraction, though, is a series of balancing acts built up around flexible Perspex see-through panels that wobble sufficiently to make every balance an unpredictable feat.

Climbing and jumping from one panel to another is also a chancy business these former Circus Oz performers carry off well.

The show is from Statera Circus in West Gippsland. The performers have a mission to entertain young people with circus skills while having enough theatre skills to capture and dissolve their concerns and anxieties. It makes for a lot of harmless fun.
