The Spiegeltent at The Garden of Unearthly Delights
Until March 20
Leave your inhibitions at the Spiegeltent door and prepare to indulge in a fabulous feast for all the senses.
Hosts Remi Martin Lenz and Felix Pouliot charm instantly with their French accents and cheeky innuendo as they lead you through a hedonistic night of sensual stunts, ribald wit and incredible acrobatic prowess.
It’s an edge-of-the-seat burlesque thriller – you’ll gasp, shrink, squirm and applaud – sometimes at all at once.
Blanc de Blanc Encore’s definitely risque – bringing a whole lot of, well, ha-penis. There’s ha-penis right in your face for some in the audience, ha-penis in the music, ha-penis anticipating if the towels will drop, revealing all. It seriously is in-your-face voyeurism at its best.
Be warned, there is some audience participation, so avoid the first few rows if you’re a little bashful. Although it is appears hard to resist a little coaxing from the charismatic characters.
But quite apart from the bared flesh and innuendo – it’s the strength and skill of the performers as they twist and contort their bodies beyond what should be humanly possible, mixed in with the lavish costumes and stunning set that cements this production yet again as a must-see this Fringe.
Covid meant Blanc de Blanc couldn’t strut their stuff last year, and there’s a palpable added level of joy in the troupe. So take your seat and let the bubbles wash over you – quite literally.
