Andrew Silverwood: I Don’t Like Tiser
Comedy
Rating: ****
The Piglet at Gluttony and The Squeaker at Gluttony
Until March 20
In the most intimate display of comedic gold, Andrew Silverwood stuns his crowd with raw British humour and some not-safe-for-work stories of his time travelling between Old Blighty and the desert country down under.
Exploring the many differences and similarities between England and Australia, Silverwood – who definitely should not be allowed through customs without a thorough security check – is bright, engaging and oh-so morally questionable.
Making light of a stand-up’s life through Covid, he has an infectiously energetic demeanour, even while he re-enacts the time he took a great tumble amid the chaos of the Edinburgh Comedy Festival.
Silverwood is ruthless in his exploration of Australian road users, his questionable chiropractor and our religious festival-loving Prime Minister.
Let him impress you with his incredible use of scrabble vocabulary, shock you with his knowledge of Osama bin Laden (more affectionately nicknamed OBL) and give you cause to worry about what your favourite beanie kid is.
Silverwood’s dynamic and explosively quick wit is to be greatly admired.
To save his career, and his cat (trust me, its life is on the line) this show is definitely a must see for the final stretch of the Fringe.
