The Piglet at Gluttony

Until March 20
There’s no doubt about it; Clay McMath has star quality.

He oozes charisma and a cool air of confidence, taking his “crippling anxiety” in his stride as he shares tales of his life navigating racial stereotypes and an eye-opening stint as a college basketballer in the US.

A set packed with edgy political takes and bold observational humour; Ain’t It Funny is raw, dark, and gripping.

While delivered with ease at a steady pace that speaks to McMath’s talents as a podcaster, the punchlines were a little drawn out at times, and while you can tell this is a set crafted with attention to detail, the links between gags were often strenuous.

But McMath’s engaging demeanour shines through, with his passion for stand-up clear to the crowd.

All in all, it’s an entertaining 50 minutes of storytelling from a fresh comedic talent in the pleasant setting of Gluttony’s open-air Piglet.
