A Flying Photon

Comedy / NSW

Rating: ****

The Sky Room, The Griffins Hotel and The Launch Pad, Stone & Chalk

Until March 7

Science explainer Rachel Rayner is blazing a trail with a new type of Fringe show.

It doesn’t quite fit in the comedy category, as it’s fun but not funny, at least, not like stand-up.

It’s really a science show, with a few artistic flourishes, including poetry. If you like the Brit-pop star of science, Brian Cox, or American astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, you’ll be happy here.

“Rayner Explainer” hopes Adelaide audiences will part with new-found appreciation for the universe, especially quantum mechanics.

Even those with intimate knowledge of the subject will learn something new and find fresh perspective.

See the galaxy in all the colours of the electromagnetic spectrum, both the visible and the invisible.

Feel the vibrations. Witness the power and the glory of the tiny photon, a package of light with so much to offer.
