A luxury experience and spectacular views of the city and Adelaide Hills will be on offer to guests of Adelaide’s newest 5-star hotel when it opens in November.

Operators of the Crowne Plaza have released the first images inside the hotel, including the city’s highest restaurant and a high-rise infinity pool overlooking North Terrace.

The opening of the Frome Street hotel was pushed back from September to November 2 following heightened travel restrictions for visitors from Victoria.

Crowne Plaza Adelaide general manager Sarah Goldfinch said the hotel was well-positioned to attract travellers as border restrictions eased, as well as local South Australians looking for a “staycation” in a brand new complex.

“While borders remain closed demand is very limited to an intrastate market – we will be promoting our unique restaurant and bar experiences to locals and encouraging South Australians to stay in one of Adelaide’s newest 5-star hotels,” she said.

“We are encouraged by slow signs of recovery in the domestic drive market and interest in social events.

“We are confident the eastern states of Australia have a new appreciation for what Adelaide and South Australia has to offer and will prioritise SA for their next holiday or business trip.”

The finishing touches are being put on the hotel, located in Adelaide’s tallest tower – the 138m Frome Central Tower One building.

The tenth floor will be the main hub, where guests will check in to one of 329 rooms located across the first 20 floors of the building.

It will also accommodate Crowne’s “Plaza Workspace” co-working concept, which is being rolled-out in venues across the world.

Japanese restaurant Koomo, a gym, conference and events space and alfresco bar Luna10 will also be found on the tenth floor, leading out to the spectacular infinity pool.

“Guests can expect a 5-star hotel experience,” Ms Goldfinch said.

“They can expect unique views of Adelaide at every angle, exceptional dining experiences from Adelaide’s highest restaurant and bar, and they can enjoy a cocktail poolside while soaking up the sun and the views of Adelaide at our outdoor, heated infinity pool.”

Plaza Workspace, Luna10 and Koomo will be open to the public and not be restricted to guests of the hotel, which will employ close to 75 staff.

The hotel opening marks the return of the Crowne Plaza brand in Adelaide after the previous Crowne Plaza hotel, at Hindmarsh Square, was taken over by AccorHotels in 2017 and rebranded as a Pullman.

As part of an opening special, the Crowne Plaza is offering a 50 per cent discount on normal room rates.
