Koomo restaurant will be Adelaide’s highest CBD diner when it opens in Crowne Plaza

This is taking Japanese food to new levels - when new restaurant Koomo opens in the CBD, it’ll be on the 10th floor of a new Frome St building, offering spectacular views.

Japanese comfort food will be taken to the next level at new East End restaurant Koomo, set to be the highest restaurant in the CBD.

Positioned on the 10th floor of the new 329-room, upscale Crowne Plaza Adelaide hotel on Frome St, but run separately from the hotel, the views will be hard to beat: floor-to-ceiling windows will boast views over the city and Adelaide Hills.

The 138m Frome Central Tower One, housing the restaurant and hotel, will be Adelaide’s tallest building (beating Westpac House on King William St by 6m).

Koomo (the word is a homophone of the Japanese word “kumo”, meaning “clouds”) will offer katsu (crumbed meat cutlet) sandwiches, noodle dishes, including ramen, and a hibachi-grilled selection.

Executive chef Patrick Chung (ex InterContinental Adelaide) and his team will source native Australian ingredients to create Japanese-inspired dishes, fashioning a fusion between the two food cultures.

Koomo will be open for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner, and a children’s menu will be available.

Bar Luna10, on the same floor, will feature an infinity pool and deck bar, offering Japanese small plates, a cocktail list inspired by the flavours of Japan and the chance to swim high above the city.
