Yambah Station, Dorisvale Station, Aileron Station: NT cattle stations set for $100m-plus deals
One NT cattle station has been sold to a NSW farming family, while another two stations set to change hands in top-dollar deals.
A trio of NT cattle stations are set to be involved in a series of deals worth more than $100 million, as demand for expansive northern pastoral country remains.
After an 80-year tenure, the 231,000ha Yambah Station, located north of Alice Springs in Central Australia has been sold by the Gorey family to a NSW-based farming family.
Initially listed for sale in 2018, the large-scale breeding property has been sold for a reported $28 million.
Dan and Sally Muenster have reportedly purchased the property completing a shift from goat and sheep breeding to cattle.
Earlier this year, the Muensters sold the 2370ha Marong, a Riverina mixed farming property for about $15 million to local cotton grower Ed Harris and family, after seven years ownership.
Prior to the sale of Marong the Muensters also sold the 29,200ha NSW western land lease Congararra, located north of Bourke, to the Grimwade and Gordon partnership.
Owned by the Gorey family for three generations, the property was used to establish a leading Beef Shorthorn cattle stud at Yambah Station in the 1960s. Antony Glynn from Central Australian Rural Property handled the sale.
Meanwhile, two other NT cattle stations have hit the market separately where they are expected to field offers worth about $80 million combined.
Melbourne-based Caason investment group has listed the 407,615ha Aileron Station and 1047ha Oolloo Farm, located 130km north of Alice Springs in the Anmatjere region.
Offers from the aggregation, (for sale in one line or as separate assets) are expected to reach about $50 million on walk-in walk-out terms, including 6000 head of cattle, which are predominantly Droughtmaster and Black Angus.
The Caason investment group purchased Aileron Station from Gary Dann in June 2015 for $10 million, then paid $6.1 million for Oolloo Farm in 2021.
Aileron Station has been used for cattle breeding with a carrying capacity of 7750 adult equivalents (AE), while 154ha was developed to centre pivot irrigation and used for supplementary fodder production at Oolloo Farm.
Large-scale NT cattle producers Tony and Julie Harrower are also looking to sell the 67,500ha Dorisvale Station, located about 350km southeast of Darwin.
A 12,000-head cattle herd, with predominantly Brahman cattle and 6000 breeders, is included in the offering, with offers tipped to reach $30 million.
The potential to lease neighbouring properties (previously leased by current owners), which would provide an additional 108,500ha is being marketed with the property.
LAWD director Olivia Thompson and senior director Danny Thomas are handling the sales.
Separate expressions of interest close at 12pm (ACST) on August 9 for Dorisvale Station and the Aileron Station and Oolloo Farm aggregation.
