TWO cattle stations have sold for about $70 million after they hit the market in 2018.

The Weekly Times understands Tanumbirini and Forrest Hill Stations, near Daly Waters in the NT, have sold for about $70 million to the Langenhoven family.

The properties, which sprawl across almost 560,000ha, were sold on a walk in, walkout basis with about 36,000 cattle.

The stations were sold by UK based Thames Pastoral, an Australian subsidiary of London-based Insight Global Farmland Fund, and were listed on the market at the beginning of 2018.

Thames Pastoral purchased Tanumbirini Station for about $35 million in 2012 and Forrest Hill Station for $6.4 million in 2013.

The Langenhoven family also purchased the 376,000ha Kalala Station in the NT last year for $58 million and has reportedly invested in almost 1.1 million ha of NT grazing country over the past two years.

Selling agent Rawdon Briggs from Colliers International declined to comment on the price, but said the station’s attracted many inquiries during their campaigns.

Tanumbirini Station is 735km south east of Darwin and features four sets of cattle yards, 38 bores and 112 tanks.

Forrest Hill Station is 500km south of Darwin and features two sets of cattle yards, 13 bores, 24 tanks and five dams.
