THE iconic Northern Territory cattle stations, Wollogorang and Wentworth, have reportedly sold for $53 million to McMillan Pastoral Company.

The stations, which were listed for sale in August last year and are located in the Gulf of Carpentaria, were sold by Chinese billionaire Xingfa Ma – who owns the China-based ball bearing manufacturing company Tianma Bearing Group.

The sale was reportedly settled on Tuesday.

The Weekly Times reported at the beginning of March that the stations were under offer.

Wollogorang and Wentworth, which border the Northern Territory and Queensland, have 80km of coastline and were being sold on a walk-in walkout basis with 30,000 cattle.

The sprawling stations represents more than half of Mr Ma’s estimated 1.35 million ha Australian landholdings.
