Aussie country music legend Lee Kernaghan has come up with a new way to meet fans right across the country – and it’s all in the name of a good cause.

Along with wife Robby, Mr Kernaghan developed the StarKix mobile phone app — a platform for fans to meet their favourite stars from the worlds of sport and entertainment.

“It came about during those long months in Covid, back in 2020. We weren’t touring, no musos were touring and we thought StarKix was a great way to meet people like we used to on the road,” he said.

Mr Kernaghan said while there were a number of websites where people could order personalised videos and birthday greetings from celebrities, StarKix was different because it involved genuine conversation.

And in the lead up to Easter, all proceeds from the Kernaghans’ online connections will go towards the Good Friday Appeal, to aid the efforts of Melbourne’s Royal Children’s Hospital.

“It’s a great cause, the Good Friday Appeal,” he said.

“It’s been going on for so long and their work is known right across Australia – so we wanted to help out where we can.”

This week, Mr Kernaghan announced his first Victorian tour in five years with concert dates confirmed for July in Traralgon, Geelong and Warrnambool.

“I’m really looking forward to Victoria — it’s great to be back on tour after a few years away,” he said.
