COUNTRY artist Lee Kernaghan revealed a more intimate side as he told stories and played for the Daily Mercury Club at Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre.

Fans sang along to his classic songs such as Outback Club and Flying with the King, an ode to late country legend Slim Dusty.

Three audience members walked away with the lucky door prizes of signed guitars.

Habana farmer and long-time Kernaghan fan Val Baretta said he was stoked to have been a winner.

"The first thing I've got to do is buy a case and it's going straight to the loft," Mr Baretta said.

He said Kernaghan was inspirational with great respect for the country and that his favourite song was definitely She's my Ute.

The Daily Mercury Club hosted the event on Friday night, raising more than $4000 for the Black Dog Ride charity that raises awareness of depression and suicide.
