‘I hope she is somewhere safe’: Ann-Louise Hordacre continues search for Flossie
The owner of a toy poodle cruelly stolen from her property has spoken out with a direct message for the people who took her.
The owner of a much-loved dog who was stolen from a house in Fullarton on Tuesday says she hopes her beloved dog is “OK” and somewhere safe.
While police are still investigating the situation, Ann-Louise Hordacre said she believed the thieves were “opportunistic”.
“She looks like a puppy, they may have thought she would make a nice gift or they could sell her,” Ms Hordacre told The Advertiser on Thursday.
“She would be anxious, she would be scared … she’s so little.
“She didn’t run away … she just runs to me, that’s all she wants.”
Ms Hordacre said she only has one message for the people who have taken her precious Flossie.
“Take her somewhere safe, take her to the vet if you don’t want to go to the police,” Ms Hordacre said.
“I just want her home, I don’t care about anything else.”
Since posting about Flossie’s disappearance on Tuesday, Ms Hordacre has been overwhelmed by people sharing the message and commenting words of support and care.
“I really value all of the sharing of Flossie,” Ms Hordacre said.
Ms Hordacre said Flossie was “desperately missed and would be desperate to come home”.
In her social media post, which has since received hundreds of shares and comments, Ms Hordacre detailed the circumstances surrounding Flossie’s disappearance.
“My laundry door was smashed. Flossie was carried over a locked side gate. There was no way she ran,” she posted.
“The police have confirmed she was stolen. I just want her back. If someone has her please take her to the police or take her to a vet and she can be returned to me. I am completely devastated and worried about her.”
Police believe the break-in occurred sometime between 8.30am and 5.30pm on Tuesday, January 28, with neighbours reporting hearing noises around 1pm.
Flossie is microchipped and police are appealing for witnesses and ask anyone who may have been in the vicinity to contact Crime Stoppers at www.crimestopperssa.com.au/ or on 1800 333 000.
