The Herald Sun reports police are currently at the facility located in Skye following the incident.

“Police will prepare a report for the coroner following the death of an infant at a family daycare facility in Skye,” a police statement read.

“An investigation into the circumstances is ongoing but the death is not being treated as suspicious.”

A major crime scene is in place, with several police and ambulance vehicles at the property this evening.

A neighbour reportedly heard screams from the property moments before emergency services arrived.

The baby was unable to be revived at the scene, and the cause of death is still unknown.
