CATTLE breeders Corey and Prue Ireland appeared in the Sydney Downing Centre for a two-day special fixture this week.

They were found not guilty of failing to deliver books to a liquidator.

The pair, who ran Ireland’s Angus stud near Wagga Wagga, NSW, appeared by video conference on Tuesday, the second day of the fixture, to answer charges of not providing books to a liquidator.

Magistrate E Manea found them not guilty of one charge relating to not delivering books.

However, the matter is listed for a further decision on March 6, again at the Sydney Downing Centre.

The pair, who were principals of Ireland’s Angus Stud at Kyeamba in southern NSW, pleaded not guilty to the charge in June last year.

Mr and Mrs Ireland’s liquidated company CD and PJ Ireland was the trustee for the Ireland Family Trust, which traded as Ireland’s Angus Stud.

Liquidation resulted after court action on November 14, 2019, from petitioning creditor East Coast Stockfeeds.

Additional court action, instigated by the Rural Crime Investigation Unit in NSW, continues in the Wagga Wagga Local Court.

On December 17, 2019, their former property, and once the home of Ireland’s Angus Stud, at Kyeamba in southern NSW was raided by police.

Mr Ireland was later charged in April 2020 after a long-running police investigation.

Mr Ireland has been charged with 13 counts of dishonestly obtaining financial advantage by deception and is due to appear for further mention (committal) on February 15.
