Pablo & Rusty's is expanding (Gordon, Epping, Sydney Olympic Park, Ryde and now Lane Cove), but each is kept individual enough to help you feel it's your local. This one has an enviable spot in the middle of Lane Cove's kid-friendly plaza, with split-level seating and a few tables in the sun. A piccolo caffe latte ($3.30) is rich and complex, with a fruity finish. The small kitchen somehow turns out a great PRAT (prosciutto, rocket, avocado, tomato), a super-juicy Rusty beef burger and a creamy affogato, and there's a wall of Aeropress, French press and freshly roasted bean bags to go.
