This is an old-school sports pub: footy jerseys on the walls, televisions, gambling facilities. If you walked in when it was empty, you'd fear ordering anything but a pie and a schooner would start a blue. Surprise, surprise! The kitchen serves truly excellent Vietnamese fare: fragrant pho (seven varieties) and wonderful bun and rice dishes. There are also steaks, fish 'n' chips and a few Chinese standards. It's nothing glamorous - you line up, place your order, get a number, grab your own cutlery, pour tea and fight through masses of chattering families to a cramped table. But it's worth it.
