Boatrowers Hotel

13/20

Contemporary$$

An authentic local that has retained its original charm and doesn't take itself too seriously. The cosy front bar teems with punters who spill out into the footpath, while the beer garden is more modern but doesn't jar with the original features. The food is equally unpretentious. The Boaties sizzler comes searing on a cast-iron plate, a hearty char-grilled rump topped with juicy king prawns and calamari sauteed in a light garlic sauce. The pan-fried chicken breast was a little dry, but was saved by a generous topping of prawns and a creamy garlic sauce. And you can't beat the Boaties burger.
