Wooden floorboards give this cosy local hub a lived-in feel. Food is made here, like the roast pumpkin tart strewn with pinenuts, goat's cheese and rocket (as homely and satisfying as the pot-belly stove) and to-die-for raspberry and white-choc muffins. Or try a scallop risotto, with just-cooked orbs of seafood, roasted fennel and cherry tomatoes. The coffee's good, and Friday night is tapas night.
