Couta Boat Cafe

The Couta Boat occupies the ground floor of a grand old guesthouse. Service is friendly and fairly efficient and the menu mixes crowd-pleasers (Portarlington mussels in a spicy tomato sauce) with flashes of culinary flair: perhaps gyoza-like rabbit dumplings with quince jam. Classic desserts such as sticky date pudding or lemon tart don’t rock the boat, but they do satisfy.
