It's more of a virtual or partial lift-off, but it's clear not even a lockdown can get in the way of Sydney's voracious appetite for restaurant launches.

In past weeks, a brave posse of Sydney restaurants – Double Bay's Margaret and Roxy's restaurants included – have opted to kickstart their kitchens, even if diners can't experience the lush interior fitouts and waitstaff charm.

Barangaroo's slick-looking ToroToro Ramen Bar will join the party this week, oiling its kitchen with takeaway and home delivery.

Head chef Terry Soth and his kitchen team will use the lockdown period to hone its food product before eat-in customers are allowed to visit the restaurant for the first time.

"We're doing a dirty shoyu ramen with chicken and pork broth and burnt leek oil. Customers can get [the finished product] or a frozen package if they want to make it themselves at home," Soth says.

The former China Doll chef is keen to eventually show off the restaurant's interior. "There are paper sheets laid on top of each other on the walls and graphics on the tabletops. It looks great." Something the rest of us will have to wait to experience.

Open daily noon-8pm.
