Seddon cafe Common Galaxia spin-off Little Common opens in Footscray
Seddon cafe Common Galaxia is named after the common galaxias fish – and it's swum upstream along the train line to Footscray.
Little Common is located opposite Footscray station, in the petite space formerly home to Guerilla Espresso, on the perimeter of Footscray Market. The stand-up espresso bar has limited seating – perch on a bar stool or sit at one of the few footpath tables.
Common Galaxia chef Nanette O'Connor has also put together the spin-off's simple menu of granola, toast, toasties, salmon or pastrami bagels and grab-and-go "cups" (savoury puff pastry tartlets).
The original Scandi-styled cafe's coffee hasn't made the commute, with a different "European-style" robust blend from A-Plus coffee roasters designed to wake-up market traders and commuters.
Open daily 6am-3pm.
Little Common, Shop 228 Irving Street, Footscray
