Gelato Messina to open in Queensland
Already well-loved in Sydney and Melbourne with frequent queues snaking out the door, Gelato Messina is set to open its first store in Queensland. But Brisbane ice-cream lovers should be prepared for a drive.
Gelato Messina will open in February next year at The Strand in Coolangatta as part of a $60 million refurbishment by the Vintna Group of the retail complex opposite Coolangatta beach.
“We've been waiting for the perfect beachside location that complements our product and creates the ideal atmosphere for our customers and visitors, the perfect balance of chill, childishness and charm,” said founder of Gelato Messina, Nick Palumbo.
This will be Messina's first venture into Queensland, in addition to their five stores in Sydney and one in Melbourne.
The gelati line-up includes the '40 signature flavour cabinet' including favourites - salted caramel and white chocolate, plus milk chocolate with chocolate peanut fudge - as well as the more traditional tiramisu and pistachio and other flavour specials.
Gelato Messina joins other confirmed tenants, Kazbah, a Sydney-based Middle Eastern restaurant chain, Max Brenner chocolates and local outfit, The Black Sheep Espresso.
