Mornington man Ashton Frederick Jones, victim of alleged stabbing murder, remembered as devoted dad and ‘loved by all’
A friend has paid tribute to Ashton Jones, a man found dead at Mornington in the early hours of Monday after an alleged fatal stab wound to the neck.

A MORNINGTON man allegedly murdered in the early hours of Monday has been remembered as a devoted dad who was “loved by all”.
Police found the body of Ashton Frederick Jones, 34, at a property in Carbeen Street, Mornington, after receiving a distress call.
According to police, the father of one died from a stab wound to the neck about 2.50am on October 12.
On Wednesday, Caleb Adams, 31, entered a plea of not guilty to one count of murder before Hobart Magistrate Chris Webster.
Mr Adams will fight the charge in a Supreme Court of Tasmania trial during 2021.
A family friend told the Mercury that Mr Jones was “loved by all, a keen cricketer and former football player” who was “working towards a better life”.
Mr Adams appeared briefly in the Hobart Magistrates Court on Wednesday, when he entered a not guilty plea to the charge of murder.
Mr Webster remanded him in custody to appear in the Supreme Court on February 1 next year.
Police also previously said they believed the two men were known to each other.
Mr Adams will remain in custody while he awaits trial.
On Wednesday, he appeared in the docks dressed in the same oversized grey T-shirt he wore during a brief out-of-hours hearing on Tuesday night.
