A MAN has been charged with murder following the death of a 34-year-old man on Hobart’s Eastern Shore.
Caleb Adams, 31, appeared in a night session of the Hobart Magistrates Court charged with murdering Ashton Frederick Jones, 34.
Police said Adams was charged after Mr Jones was allegedly fatally stabbed in the neck at Carbeen St in Mornington early on Monday morning.
Officers were called to the residential property where the incident occurred about 2.50am on Monday after receiving a distress call.
A heavy police presence remained at the Mornington scene throughout Monday, including uniform officers and members of the criminal investigation branch.
Police believe the incident to be isolated with both parties believed to be known to each other.
