The second of three men charged with the stabbing murder of a northern Tasmanian father aged in his thirties has entered a plea.
Mount Direction man David Jenkins, 34, a father-of-two, was discovered deceased at Lambert St, George Town, about 8.30pm on October 22. He had suffered fatal stab wounds.
George Town trio Patrick Kenneth Dolbey, 37, Luke Anthony Shaw, 30, and Paul William Shaw, 32, were all charged with his murder.
Luke Shaw was arrested at Launceston Airport allegedly preparing to leave the state in the hours after Mr Jenkins’ death.
West Launceston duo Belinda Jayne Cox, 50, and Brett James Dilger, 58, were charged with accessory after the fact to murder. Both will return to court at a later date.
Mr Dolbey has previously entered a plea of not guilty. On Monday in Launceston Magistrates Court, Luke Shaw also entered a plea of not guilty.
He will return to court on February 7 next year for a preliminary proceedings hearing.
Paul Shaw, understood to be Luke’s brother, is yet to enter a plea. He will appear in court later this month.
Mr Jenkins was remembered after his death as a family man who loved nothing more than hunting and fishing with his dad and grandfather.
