Grant Andrew Crawford appears in court in relation to fatal crash at Yolla

A man has made a plea in court having been accused of fleeing a fatal crash at Yolla after stealing a car. The details.

A man who was alleged to have fled a fatal crash scene after stealing a car has appeared in court.

Grant Andrew Crawford pleaded not guilty to manslaughter, causing death by dangerous driving, causing grievous bodily harm by dangerous driving, and assault in the Burnie Magistrates Court on Friday.

A Malaysian man died in the crash on the Murchison Highway near Yolla involving two cars and two motorcycles.

The man who died was part of a group of motorcyclists who were travelling around the state.

Another motorcyclist in the group also received significant injuries during the crash.

When the crash occurred on December 15, Crawford was allegedly driving in a stolen blue Holden Adventra station wagon.

Following the crash, police conducted a manhunt for Crawford, who was arrested and charged five days after the alleged incident.
