Tasmania Police charge Wynyard man following fatal crash in Yolla

A 52-year-old man will face the Burnie Magistrates Court on a number of charges after allegedly fleeing the scene of a fatal crash in Yolla. The latest.

A 52-year-old man has been charged with several offences after he allegedly fled the scene of a fatal crash at Yolla on Friday.

The Wynyard man will face the Burnie Magistrates Court on Tuesday after being charged with causing grievous bodily harm by dangerous driving, manslaughter, cause the death of another person by negligent driving and cause grievous bodily harm to another person by negligent driving.

A motorcyclist from Malaysia died in the crash involving two cars and another motorcycle on the Murchison Highway.

Police say another motorcyclist is in hospital with “some fairly significant injuries”.

Both motorcyclists were part of a touring group made of international travellers.

Police have previously alleged the man was driving a stolen blue Holden Adventra station wagon.
