The Tasmania Devils have broken all kinds of membership records since their launch in March — the highest membership, the fastest membership and the broadest international membership base in AFL history.

The part that makes the Tasmania Football Club most proud is its female engagement — 76,800 or 40 per cent of the total membership are women and girls.

Tasmanian-based members have hit 110,000, with Victoria (40,000) boasting the second-highest membership base, while 52 members have signed on from countries _ the USA having the most international Devils members.

TFC executive officer Kath McCann wants more fans to join the Devils’ Den.

“We want to be the most inclusive club we can possibly be, where all Tasmanians and those connected to our purpose feel a sense of belonging and pride to be a part of the club,” she said.

“We are focused on ensuring the club is for all Tasmanians, we want to have a diverse and representative member base, and we are thrilled that 40 per cent of our Founding Member base is female.

“But we will not stop there. We are committed to making sure the club is as inclusive as possible for the long-term.

“Women are an integral part of Tasmania’s football history and future. Whether athletes, administrators, coaches, partners or fans, women have, and will continue to play, a key role in our club and football in Tasmania.”

With limited edition Devils guernseys on their way, and more than 10,000 snapped up by Founding Members inside the two-week sale window, the club is hoping to hit the unprecedented 200,000-member milestone over the next few months.

“Tasmania Devils Founding Members live in over 50 countries around the world. This representation is a good reminder to us of the deep connection that so many have to our island,” Ms McCann said.

“We are developing a range of plans and activities to make sure that our Founding Devils all over the world feel connected to their club.

“We are looking forward to seeing images of Devils in their merchandise shared from all over the world, based on shipping addresses we are confident that we will see foundation jumpers popping up in all corners of the globe and we cannot wait to see the images.”
